Brund Copenhagen

We caught up with Peter Rerskov the store manager of Brund and all-round great guy. He taught us a few things about his hometown Copenhagen and his beloved shop.

Brund Jeans & Boots has been around since Jan 2004, it was opened and is owned by Henrik Brund. He actually wanted to open a furniture store with the classic danish design but was persuaded to go in another direction... clothing. Eventually the Brund concept was built upon good quality long-lasting classics, just as it would have been with the furniture. The idea of working with good quality, that lasts long and gets even better in time, that is the key. www.BRUND.dk

Who is Peter Rerskov?

Born in the month of may 1979, been in the industry since I was 14... Worked with Henrik and Brund the last 5 years or so. I Like a good concert, the outdoors, coffee, tabasco and love my dearest and nearest...

How did you get involved with Brund?

Well I’ve known Henrik for years, sold goods to him when I worked as a sales rep for a jeans brand, then I moved to Norway for some time, and when I came back, we sat down at had a good talk about what I wanted and what he needed to do with Brund to get to the next level, we were and still are extremely mind like in our ideas and thoughts about “our” concept.

Henrik has an agency besides Brund, so the team and I basically run the store and he takes care of the boring part of paying the bills etc ha ha...

How would you describe your customers?

“The Best” a good mix of the nerds, and other quality minded gents who just wants some solid goods, and then we service a good load of people, who just want a good pair of boots, a knit or cowboybukser (danish word for jeans )

So a great mix...

What was the funniest / unusual thing happening at Brund?

Ok, this is weird, but also funny... Try to look up BRUND in icelantic... (It has nothing to do with Henriks surname ha ha) We try to have a certain level of humor with us, focus on the good products, good service, spiced with a good clean joke...

What has kept you busy whilst you were on Lockdown?

Luckily, we haven’t been on lockdown, but we had reduced opening hours for a long while, but an increasing webshop kept us busy... On a personal level, I did do some puzzles and more yoga than usual and moved together with my girlfriend and her lovely two kids... So well, something good actually came out of this weird situation...

How did you find out about Heimat products and what do you like about them?

I guess, I found HEIMAT via Instagram, what do we like about HEIMAT... First of all Christian and Gemma, you are the best, your level of service is sky-high, just as the quality of your garments, well-produced “locally” in Germany, great classic-fitting...

HEIMAT is simply a no-bullshit brand, you have in short time created a brand with some very strong and important values which fits perfectly into our ideas, we sincerely hope this is beginning of a long lasting relationship...

Any future plans for Brund?

Ha ha, we have plans to take over the world by preaching high quality, well-crafted garments with a long life ahead... (and maybe open a location or two more... But we have absolutely no rush...)

Please find out more about Brund and visit their website.
